Tips for Successfully Postponing Your Wedding

a tee time

Published on April 2nd, 2020

Unfortunately, many brides and grooms have had to postpone their special day due to the COVID-19 situation. It’s perfectly understandable to want to be sad and angry, but it’s important to continue looking ahead and plan for the wedding you will still have! As one of your Logan Square wedding venues, we want to help in any way possible with planning your wedding, postponed or otherwise.

Here are a few things to consider if your special day has been postponed:

1. Contact your venue, vendors, and suppliers.

First things first, you’ll need to reach out to your venue, vendors, and any suppliers who are taking part in your wedding. Many weddings have been postponed, and you can count on these people to help you navigate the months to come. Be sure to be polite and professional as you explain your concerns to your Logan Square wedding venue, and keep in mind that they are impacted as well.

2. Talk to your family, friends, and wedding party.

Unfortunately, while it was hard to find a date that everyone agreed on in the first place, you’ll need to work through everyone’s schedules again. Consider talking to your inner circle first, and working your way out from there.

3. Inform your wedding guests.

Next, it’s time to inform the rest of the guest list. If you’d like to take the time, and have a smaller wedding guest list, feel free to give guests a call. If you’d like to get the message out quick, a mass email or text will suffice. For those guests who made travel arrangements, try and offer your help in any way you can.

4. Celebrate your day regardless.

If you’re feeling up for it, have a personal celebration with your fiance on the day the wedding was supposed to be. While some things are out of our control, the way you react to them is within your control!
