Wedding Planning Checklist

Putting together a wedding can be extremely time-consuming and intimidating, but with the right preparation, it doesn’t have to be! Planning your wedding is something that you should enjoy rather than stress about. At Carriage Greens Country Club, our team wants to help you prepare for your big day in every way possible. Use this general guideline to ensure your wedding day goes off without a hitch, and make sure to consider us for your wedding venue in the Chicago suburbs as well!

12 Months Out

First and foremost, pick a date and set a budget for your wedding. It’s helpful to create a website and choose your wedding party at this point as well. Start exploring different venues and assemble a professional team if you want extra help. Consider what you want your wedding style to be as well.

10-11 Months Out

At this point, you’ll want to book your officiant and reserve your wedding venue in the Chicago suburbs. Purchase your wedding dress, book your officiant and mail out your save the date cards.

6-9 Months Out

Refine your guest list and start to begin creating gift registries. You should also find hotel options for your guests and start to pick out your wedding invitations. You can also begin planning your honeymoon at this point. Look into wedding day hair and makeup styles and meet with your officiant to go over details. Start to choose lighting, decor, chairs, linens as well as decide on groomsmen attire.

3-5 Months Out

Schedule another dress fitting and make sure your honeymoon is completely booked. Order your wedding cake, finalize the guest list, finalize the reception menu and experiment with your wedding-day look.

2-3 Months Out

Mail your wedding invitations and if you are writing your own vows, start to do this now. Finalize seating arrangements and finalize your playlist.

The Day Before

The big day is finally here! Deliver welcome baskets, get a manicure, and get a pedicure and massage. Enjoy your rehearsal dinner and make sure to get plenty of sleep!
